Boys are National Biathlon Champions

Monday, 25 March 2013

A team of Bolton School boys are National Biathlon Champions after gaining first place in the British Schools Biathlon Championship.

Competing as a team in the Year 12 and 13 age group, Andrew Keat, Isaac Scott and Oliver Walker won the competition. The boys enjoyed individual success with Year 12 pupil Andrew finishing in second place nationally, Year 13 pupil Oliver in 10th and Year 12 pupil Isaac in 20th - a great achievement for the boys.

The championship was held at Crystal Palace in bitterly cold conditions on Sunday the 24th of March. Individually, Oliver lead the way after the swim in 5th, with Andrew just behind in 6th. Although a year below in the age group Andrew had previously won all his appearances at these championships, but faced a stiff challenge to repeat that here. An excellent run saw him climb to second, with Isaac also running a very good time over the 1000m to leave him 20th overall.
