Bolton School Sixth Form Boys

Boys on Tour in South Africa

Thirty nine boys who play for Bolton School first and second rugby teams have set off to South Africa on a rugby tour.

The boys will be on tour from the 6th to the 21st July, and will renew friendships that were established during the School's 2008 tour. During their time in South Africa the boys will play eight games, including a match against a township team. Whilst based in Cape Town they will visit Robben Island, Table Mountain and Cape Point. When they visit Durban, they will visit Natal Sharks' stadium, the St Lucia River Estuary and Biyala Game Reserve.

To raise funds for the trip, over one hundred staff, students, parents, alumni and friends of Bolton School enjoyed a glamorous black tie and evening dress dinner at the School's Arts and Conference Centre, collecting over £2,000 towards the tour. The tour has rugby shirt sponsorship from Deloitte, polo shirt sponsorship from Barton Grange Garden Centre as well as backing from local firms, DRL, Relph's Funeral Services and Silk Group.
