New Future Stars Programme Launched at Bolton School
Tuesday, 22 September 2015
Bolton based accountants and business advisors, Cowgill Holloway, have officially launched their ‘Future Stars Programme’ to an audience of Sixth Form girls and boys at Bolton School. The new venture provides a great opportunity for Year 12 students to gain an insight into the world of business and finance. Over the course of the placement lasting 3-4 weeks, the successful applicants that gain access to the programme, will spend time in each of the Accountants’ departments, learning about audit, tax, business recovery, wealth management, corporate finance and marketing. This invaluable opportunity will also include attending meetings, completing project work and shadowing partners and senior managers.
Rob Lord, Partner at Cowgill Holloway said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for the Year 12 boys and girls. Our work experience programme offers students the opportunity to spend time observing and working on real projects within all departments in our firm. The programme is designed for students who are considering a future career in accountancy and finance. It will hopefully allow them to narrow down their career preference even further. It will also provide a platform should they decide to apply for a graduate scheme after university.”
Students have to apply for the placement by filling out an application form and are also interviewed by a partner, as if they were applying for a job. Shortlisted students will then get to tour the Cowgill Holloway head office in Bolton and ultimately two overall winners will be chosen.
