Oxbridge Offers Celebration for Sixth Formers

There has been cause for celebration in the Riley Centre recently as the final decisions have trickled through for applications to Oxford and Cambridge.

As these are the two top universities in the country, entry criteria are notoriously tough and UCAS applications must stand out even before the interview process in order to go through. However, the school provides additional support for those students wishing to apply. They have written their applications, faced the gruelling interview process, and some have even had to cope with additional examinations.

However, all the extra time and effort has paid off for the eight Sixth Formers who have received acceptance offers!

Three pupils from the Boys’ Division have received offers: Matthew Allan to study Modern Languages at Queens College, Cambridge; Joel Dalton to read Experimental Psychology at Somerville College, Oxford; and Adam Murray to study Medicine at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

From the Girls’ Division, five pupils have been successful with their applications: Emily Bodger to read Law at Corpus Christi, Cambridge; Leda Hadjigeorgiou to study Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at Oriel College, Oxford; Holly Holt to study Music at Murray Edwards, Cambridge; Elizabeth Moore to study Theology at Queens College, Cambridge; and Tejal Shanbhag to read Engineering at Trinity College, Cambridge.

This is a fantastic achievement for all eight students, and we wish them luck with achieving the grades needed to take up these offers.
