President’s Scholarship for Bolton School Boy

Sixth Former Chris Battarbee has been offered a President’s Undergraduate Scholarship from Imperial College, London. The scholarships are awarded to just 112 applicants and are the most prestigious awards the College has to offer. They are designed to reward students who demonstrate the highest academic excellence and potential.
Academic departments are responsible for nominating scholarship recipients as part of the admission process. All first time undergraduate applicants who have applied to the College by mid-October are considered for these awards. Chris was chosen as a Scholar as a result of his strong GCSE and AS results as well as his A2 predicted grades, references and interview performance.
Scholars receive £1,000 per annum and are invited to serve as ambassadors for the College and to help publicise the university.
If he takes up the offer, he will study Computer Science at Imperial and is then considering undertaking a Masters in Artificial Intelligence before pursuing a career in this field.
