Bolton School Sixth Form Girls
I chose to come to Bolton School Sixth Form because of the mix of subjects offered which suited my preferences for what I wanted to study at A Level. I also preferred the split between girls and boys to enable a more concentrated time to study. The facilities available here were better than other Sixth Forms I visited and whilst visiting Bolton School, I found that the staff were very positive, the school had a very friendly atmosphere and all the pupils seemed welcoming.
I felt the previous record of success in exams, the facilities and the diverse extra-curricular activities set this sixth form apart from others as there are so many opportunities to get involved in clubs and societies - I am a member of the Senior Netball team and the choir. There are opportunities to volunteer within the other schools such as helping to train the younger netball teams and helping younger pupils with their reading both of which I enjoy. Taking part in these activities not only gives you lots of new skills and experiences but also gives you lots to talk about on University applications! Other activities such as taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award, the BEAT programme and the Curriculum Enrichment Programme will help when I apply to university as they demonstrate that I am willing to get involved in all areas of school life so that I leave with not only good grades but valuable life skills too.
