Bolton School Sixth Form Girls

Amy's Art makes Front Page

Year 12 pupil Amy Devine has had her GCSE Art coursework published on the front cover of a national Art Supplies brochure, and several other girls' work is also featured inside!

The catalogue is a national publication from Pisces Art Supplies, and goes to every school art department in the country. Head of Art in the Girls' Division Miss Jane Fazackerley has a long standing relationship with Pisces through regular orders, and the company sponsored the latest 'Best of Bolton' Art exhibition which Bolton School Girls took part in. It was at this event they asked if they could use some of the girls' work in their national catalogue, and Product Manager Becky visited the school to choose several pieces to take away to photograph last term.

The work on the front cover is Amy's GCSE coursework from last year and she was given a very generous art pack of materials, a framed photo of the front cover, and will feature in their newsletter. Her work will also be featured in the Education Show at the NEC in March on the Pisces stand, where they will display a bodice Amy created and her sketchbook to the many schools that attend.

Pisces Product Manager Becky said:  "I think that it is such an Iconic piece of work and that it would really show teachers and attendees of the show that it is a real students artwork and that we believe that our products will help other teachers to produce the high standard of work that Bolton School does, and give a little inspiration and WOW factor to our stand at the show."

Miss Fazackerley, who also inspired Pisces to develop a range of art packs based on her own 'art packs' which she made up for the students to purchase for exam courses,  said: "There are certain catalogues which everyone awaits to see whose work is featured, and we're thrilled to have been chosen!"
