A grand total of eight Bolton School pupils have been celebrating after receiving offers from the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge!
As two of the best universities in the country, the entry criteria are notoriously tough: these prestigious institutions require outstanding UCAS application forms, and some subjects ask for additional examinations even before candidates reach the tough interview stage. However, the School provides support to pupils facing the rigours of Oxbridge applications and interviews, and this year eight Sixth Formers have been successful in their endeavours.
Four Girls’ Division pupils have received Oxbridge offers: Eleanor Harding to study Medicine at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge; Connie Eyles to study German and Russian at St Edmund Hall, Oxford; Alexandra Hopkinson to read Classics at St Anne’s College, Oxford; and Amy Lyons to study Medicine at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford.
A matching four Boys’ Division pupils also received offers: Giri Nandakumar to study Medicine at Magdalene College, Cambridge; Alastair Ahamed to read Law at Somerville College, Oxford; Edward Sandford to study Geography at Oxford; and Dominic Walker to read Classics at St Benet’s Hall, Oxford.
This is a marvellous achievement for all eight pupils, and the School wishes them the best of luck in achieving the grades they need to take up their offers.
