"Recently I won the Mensa Child Genius Competition and I believe that it was possible because of the academic skills and the skills to perform in front of an audience and to keep calm under pressure that I acquired at Hesketh House."

University Lecture for RS Students

Wednesday, 21 November 2012

Bolton School Girls’ Division RS department held a university lecture on the issue of interfaith relations by Dr Mel Prideaux from the University of Leeds.

The lecture was open to sixth form students from both the Girls’ and the Boys’ Divisions with an interest in the politics of the role of religion in modern society.

Dr Prideaux spoke to the pupils about the importance of interfaith dialogue as part of the RS department’s promotion of National Interfaith Week. The talk was well attended and engaged the students in a university style lecture which gave them a taste of what a first year RS lecture might be like.

Dr Mel Prideaux is Teaching Fellow and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the University of Leeds. She has published several books and papers on interfaith dialogue and is a recognised expert in the field.
