Girls' Division Charity

The President of Bolton Lions Club, Geoff Harper, visited Bolton School at the end of March to present the Girls’ Division with a certificate to acknowledge their support of the club’s Christmas Toy Appeal.

In December, girls and their families donated a huge collection of new and nearly-new toys and games to the Christmas Toy Appeal. These were then passed on through Bolton Lions to children from struggling families, ensuring that they received gifts on Christmas morning.

A group of Year 12 students from the Boys’ and Girls’ Divisions also volunteered with Bolton Lions over the festive period. They helped out in the club’s pop-up space in Bolton Market Place: helping to dress the store front, collecting donations, providing information, wrapping presents and packing hampers, and even dressing up as the club’s lion mascot!

Mr Harper thanked the whole of the Girls’ Division in morning assembly for their support. He also talked about the work the club does in the local community, such as the impact of the Christmas Toy Appeal and their upcoming work planting trees.
