Junior Girls Music

Junior Girls at Bolton School delivered a spectacular summer concert to families and teachers in the Great Hall of the Girls’ Division as they celebrated their Hesketh House habits.

Girls across all year groups (Years 3 to 6) worked through the eight positive habits that they focus on during their schooling – curiosity, challenge, creativity, compassion, commitment, communication, collaboration and celebration – performing a variety of spoken and musical pieces.

Led by narrators, girls read poems and sang songs from shows and the big screen which reflected the themes of the different habits. The audience was highly appreciative of all those involved, including year group choirs, the cheerleaders, readers, singers and incidental musicians playing piano, flute and violin, that delivered music from popular children’s musicals such as The Little Mermaid, Moana, Pochohontas,  Aladdin, Brave, Zootopia, Jungle Book and Hercules. The Year 5 Spanish Dance Club even sang Dos Oruguitas from Disney’s animated film Encanto in Spanish!

The retiring collection at the end of the concert collected donations towards the Hesketh House’s school development programme in Malawi.
