The Riley Centre completes Lord Leverhulme’s vision of a central quadrangle based on the colleges of Oxford and Cambridge. It is linked to the Girls’ and Boys’ Divisions by two-tier glazed walkways, and allows the school to retain single-sex teaching whilst creating an environment in which boys and girls can study and relax together. It provides the best of both worlds and is the ideal preparation for university life.
The first floor common room and café is a warm and welcoming place, which is the focal point for social activity in the Sixth Form. It provides our students with a place to relax and enjoy one another's company.
This bright and spacious air-conditioned space always has a lively atmosphere, and is most often filled with a pleasant buzz of conversation as students mix between lessons and in free periods.
The upper floor of our Sixth Form Centre is reserved for quiet study, and is the perfect place to concentrate on coursework and assignments.
Wireless internet and network access is freely available throughout the Riley Centre. The quiet study area is equipped with a suite of computers for Sixth Form students' use and several group work areas with touch-screen tvs.
The Riley Café operates throughout the day, offering students the opportunity to buy hot and cold drinks and a variety of foods, from breakfast snacks to afternoon treats.
The café is also where all Sixth Form students are served their school lunch each day, with hot and cold meal options that can be enjoyed without leaving the exclusive Sixth Form space.
