Admissions

Bolton School offers the potential of a continual learning experience from Nursery to Sixth Form. However, pupils can join us at a number of levels:

Nursery (0-4 years)

Our nursery offers a choice of full- and part-time places for your child and staff will be delighted to meet you to discuss your needs. We also offer a Pre-School Class for 3 and 4 year olds, which prepares them for entry to Infant School. For more information about Nursery Admission please contact us.

Infants - Beech House (4-7 years)

Entry into our Infants' School is for boys and girls in the academic year following their fourth birthday. Interviews take place during the Autumn term of the previous year. Find out more about Beech House Admissions.

Boys' Division - Junior Boys (7-11 years)

The main intake each year is in Year 3 (age 7) and a few places are sometimes available in Years 4, 5 and 6. Prospective pupils complete an application form, sit a written assessment in the January of the year of entry and attend an interview. Find out more about Junior Boys Admissions.

Girls' Division - Junior Girls (7-11 years)

The main intake each year is in Year 3 (age 7) and a few places are sometimes available in Years 4, 5 and 6. Prospective parents complete an application form, pupils sit a written assessment in the January of the year of entry and attend an interview. Find out more about Junior Girls Admissions.

Boys' Division - Senior and Sixth Form Boys (11-18 years)

Entry usually occurs in Year 7 to the Senior School or in Year 12 to the Sixth Form.

All applicants must complete an application form and sit an entrance test in the January of the year of entry. Applicants reaching the appropriate standard will then be interviewed. We will also require a reference from the candidate's Headteacher. Find out more about Senior Boys Admissions.

Depending upon places being available, applications are also considered for those pupils wishing to enter other year groups.
