News Of Former Pupils Career Development

Boys’ Division students in Years 12 and 13 learned more about the Find Your Path mentoring scheme. Established in 2017 by a group of Old Boys keen to pass on their experience to recent leavers, Find Your Path enables Sixth Form leavers to seek support and guidance on their journey into work.

Old Boys Peter Acton, David Seddon and Peter Walker (all Class of 1971) introduced the Sixth Form to this exciting opportunity during SPACE: regular afternoons off-timetable in the Boys’ Division where students engage in activities beyond the curriculum. During these sessions, students were encouraged to think about the obstacles they might face when entering the workplace and how they could overcome them. They were asked to consider in small groups the skills and attributes that employers are looking for when recruiting.

The three Old Boys also flagged up the benefits of taking part in the Find Your Path scheme, including bespoke guidance from an individually selected mentor, assistance with interview techniques and preparation, and more. The School is grateful for the time and effort these alumni offer to students and young Old Boys as they plan their entry to the world of work.
