Year 7 pupils at Bolton School Girls’ Division made the most of a French Study Morning held in the Arts Centre. The morning began with a screening of the animated film Kirikou by Michel Ocelot, which is based on African fairy tales.
After break, guest artist Sarah Crowther, The Arty Teacher, led an art project based on Henri Rousseau's painting “Le rêve”, which inspired the animation style in the film. The girls created their own masks using paper cutting and layering techniques.
The girls thoroughly enjoyed watching the film, which helped boost their French language learning, and afterwards had fun making their individual paper masks.
