Bolton School is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Hg Foundation through the STEM Horizons programme, an initiative that aims to broaden access to high-quality STEM education and careers opportunities for young people.

The Hg Foundation is an independent charity committed to improving social mobility and helping individuals from under-represented backgrounds access education and careers in technology, STEM and related sectors. Through strategic partnerships and targeted investment, the Foundation works to remove barriers to opportunity and ensure that more young people can develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the modern workforce.

STEM Horizons is a growing network that brings together schools, employers and industry partners to inspire and engage pupils in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The programme seeks to increase awareness of STEM career pathways, provide meaningful employer engagement and help young people make informed decisions about their futures.

Bolton School is pleased to be joining this network and supporting its mission to connect education with industry while expanding opportunities for young people across the region.

The partnership reflects a shared belief in the importance of widening participation in STEM subjects and careers, particularly for those who may not otherwise have access to the experiences that can help unlock future opportunities.

Ian Davenport, the Consultant Programme Director for STEM Horizons, said of the schools involved: ‘We are confident that they will make a highly valuable contribution to this programme as it grows and builds important evidence of impact.’

Bolton School looks forward to working with The Hg Foundation, STEM Horizons and fellow partner schools to help inspire the next generation of STEM professionals and broaden access to opportunity for young people across the North West.
