Year 13 student Liam Pijper, who is an editor of the Boys' Division magazine The Fifth Quarter magazine, reports on the first Making Things event:
Tuesday 14 October marked our inaugural Making Things event and what an evening it was! Bringing together students, staff and families for a celebration of creativity in all its forms, the event featured a wonderful mix of poetry, creative writing, short films and musical performances from Years 7 through 13, showcasing the incredible talent and imagination within our school community.
The atmosphere was warm, engaging and full of energy as students confidently shared their work and supported one another. From Radiohead covers to pancake poetry, the evening truly highlighted the diverse artistic specialties of our students. It was a fantastic evening of laughter, community and literary delights.
The success of its debut ensured that Making Things will now be an annual event, allowing future years of students the opportunity to express themselves creatively and publicly, displaying many of the pieces featured in The Fifth Quarter magazine: an annual collection of the Boys’ Division’s finest creative literary works.
