The Boys’ Division was in fine voice once again for the annual Christmas Festival. This special winter occasion once again saw pupils, staff, family and friends come together for a rousing evening of uplifting carols and thought-provoking readings.
The evening saw many Christmas traditions upheld once again, from opening with ‘Once In Royal David’s City’ to the singing of ‘Mary’s Boy Child’ and ‘Shine, Jesus, Shine’. These familiar carols were interspersed with reflections based around the Christmas story, including a meditation from guest speaker Dave Bagley MBE, Co-Founder and CEO of Urban Outreach, and with music from the Chamber Choir, Lower School Choir, Senior Vocal Ensemble and the String Quartet. The Christmas Festival closed with a spectacular rendition of ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful!’
At the end of the evening, a retiring collection was held to support the Boys’ Division’s chosen Christmas charities: this year, the funds raised will go to Bolton Destitute Animal Shelter and Backup North West.
