Angelie Chitre, a Y11 pupil in the Girls’ Division of Bolton School, has been selected for the U17 Lancashire County Hockey team. Angelie, who plays in attack, represented her county, playing a year group higher than her age, in the recent North West Regional tournament, where she scored two goals, helping her team to two wins and two draws.

Y10 pupil Erin Turner, having been a Lancashire player for several years, has been selected for the Performance Centre Trials and is looking forward to taking part in a regional tournament in the summer.

Erin, a midfield player, was nominated for Lancashire trials when aged 12. She trained with the county for a year but due to Covid was unable to play any games. She was nominated to trial for a performance centre in the summer of 2021 and, after two months of trials, was accepted into Fylde Performance Centre. She trains at Mill Farm Sports Village monthly, with two hour sessions on Monday nights and six hour sessions on Sunday which include theory and four hours of training.

Both girls play for Bolton Hockey Club.
