It has been an exceptional year on the water for Lilly, a Year 12 student at Bolton School who has enjoyed a string of successes across regional and national sailing events throughout 2025.

Lily secured first place in the North West Junior Traveller Series after claiming victories at four venues: West Lancashire Yacht Club, Bassenthwaite, Winsford Flash and Redesmere. Her remarkable consistency throughout the series made her the first girl in four years to take the overall title, a milestone achievement in one of the North West’s most competitive junior circuits.

Building on this success, Lilly was the Top Under 19 Female and placed 15th overall out of 128 sailors in the ILCA Grand Prix Circuit, a prestigious series showcasing some of the best single-handed racing talent in the country. Her strong performances throughout the season reflected her commitment, skill, and growing experience at national level.

The summer holidays brought further highlights, with Lilly taking an impressive third place at the Miracle Nationals in Tenby, competing against a high-calibre fleet from across the UK. She also represented her club at the ILCA Women’s Regatta at Rutland Water, where she finished first in the ILCA 6 fleet. At the ILCA Northern Championships, Lilly was the top ILCA 4 sailor, continuing to demonstrate her confidence and competitive spirit on the national stage.

Alongside her racing achievements, Lilly has also gained her Level 1 Race Coach and Dinghy Instructor qualifications. With her sights now set on the 2026 season, she aims to continue her progression and inspire more young sailors — particularly girls — to take to the water and follow in her wake.
