Junior Girls Achievement

Ruby Spencer, a Year 6 pupil at Bolton School Junior Girls’ School, has enjoyed a hugely successful trip to the Malta GymStars competition. Ruby had been selected by her Head Coach at City of Preston Gymnastics and it was her first time competing in international competition.

The event attracted gymnasts from around Europe, including Malta, Italy, UK and Germany as well as from South Africa.

Ruby took part in the Set E Age 10 category and achieved four gold medals in each of the apparatus events – Floor, Vault, Bars and Beam and, as an added achievement, she was also awarded the highest score overall.

A proud mum, Mrs Sonya Spencer said: ‘Ruby shone like an absolute star, she’s had a fabulous Malta experience. She celebrated with a sunset, poolside pizza party and hasn’t stopped smiling since.

We are incredibly proud of her and grateful for her wonderful coaches at the City of Preston Gymnastics Club. Thanks also to Bolton School staff for showing their support for her sporting passion and allowing her to attend this competition.
