The whole of Bolton School’s Primary Division took part in this year’s Reindeer Run in support of Bolton Hospice. Over 650 children from Bolton School’s Nursery, Infant School, Junior Boys’ School and Junior Girls’ School took part, joining nearly 12,000 children from across the local area in raising money for this worthwhile charity.
Despite wintry weather and the threat of rain, the children turned out wearing their antlers for a brisk walk around the Senior School grounds. They didn’t let the cold get in the way of having a good time and enjoyed listening to festive tunes as they completed their Reindeer Run.
There was a surprise for everyone when they reached the playground of Hesketh House, the Junior Girls’ School: Cyril the Squirrel, Bolton Hospice’s mascot, was waiting to greet them! The children enjoyed waving and giving Cyril high-fives as they passed on their walk.
Once everyone had completed several laps of the Reindeer Run route, the Primary Division gathered on the Hesketh House playground to finish by singing ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’ together! It was wonderful to see the children all come together for a bit of festive fun and to raise money for a great cause.
