Shriya Pindoria and Pippa Critchley, pupils in the Girls’ Division of Bolton School, have both been called up to play for Lancashire County Cricket Club.
Shriya, a Year 13 student, has been selected for Lancashire Women's U18s’ cricket squad. She has been playing cricket since a young age and currently plays for Ramsbottom U18s and Seniors. Her selection means three hours’ training on Fridays and Sundays in closed season, which will increase to include matches and additional training in the summer.
Pippa, a Year 9 pupil, has been selected for Lancashire's U14s' team. She currently plays for Bolton School’s girls’ cricket team.
Head of Sport in the Girls’ Division, Mrs Kath Heatherington, said: ‘This is a great achievement for both girls, who have worked hard to get into the county squad.’
