The May Serenade was a wonderful way to begin the summer term at Bolton School Girls’ Division. Showcasing the School’s diverse musical talents, the programme featured the School’s various instrumental groups and choirs. They performed a wide variety of music on the night, from classical pieces to film soundtracks to pop music, meaning that there was something for everyone to enjoy.
During the course of the evening, the Junior and Senior winners of the Musical Festival gave solo performances. Anya (Year 7) and Amy (Year 13) were also presented with their trophies by the Head of Girls' Division, Mrs Kyle.
The May Serenade was also a moving occasion, as it marked the final concert as Bolton School students for those in Year 13 who are about to embark on their A Levels. The audience was invited to congratulate those performers for their many years of dedication to the musical life of the school, while also wishing them well in their future endeavours.
