Senior Girls Charity

Teachers and pupils at Bolton School Girls’ Division were delighted to welcome members of the Costello family to their whole school assembly and to present them with a cheque for £4,139.04 for their recently founded charity, Anastasia Days. The charity was set up in memory of their daughter, Anastasia, who had been a Year 7 pupil at the School when she sadly passed away in December 2021. The charity Anastasia Days aims to provide fun and memorable days out for children who have suffered trauma.

Several Year 10 and Year 8 pupils addressed the assembly and told how girls had raised the impressive amount through their annual ‘Christmas Post’ fundraiser, the wearing of Christmas jumpers and at the Ceremony of Carols concert.

Mr Costello took to the stage and thanked the School saying: ‘With this cheque you have already exceeded our expectations that we had when we set up the charity. It is a flabbergasting amount. On behalf of our family, the trustees of the charity and the children who will benefit from it, I offer a heartfelt thank you to you all.’
