Jasper Daniels, a Year 5 pupil at Bolton School Junior Boys’ School, had had an amazing weekend competing in The Lowlands Championships; a competition held at SnowWorld (Landgraaf), a huge indoor ski centre in The Netherlands.

Six nations competed in the championships: Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Great Britain and Ireland, each nation taking a quota of skiers to represent them.

Competition rules were strict and all racers, regardless of age, had to finish two out of two runs to qualify on each day. Jasper put in an amazing effort and won gold medals on both days, ahead of lots of talented international ski racers. This meant he also won 30 points for Team GB who went on to win The Nations Cup, with Netherlands and Belgium coming in second and third.

Jasper’s mother, Mrs Daniels, said: ‘He is really proud of his individual wins, as well as being a part of an overall win for GB.’
